Hadith Typology of Sayyari's Al-Qiraat
Ruhollah Shahidi
Sayyari's al-Qiraat is one of the most important sources of altered traditions. Shiite scholars have come up with this book and its author while dealing with other traditions. The present paper studies it as an independent book. Traditions of this collection have been divided into four groups: exegesis, virtues and merits, rules and etiquettes of reading the Quran, and miscellaneous. According to this division, more than one third of traditions of this book are out of question. The other traditions do not indicate any alterations within the text of the Holy Quran for the following reasons: traditions are of exegetical genre; different readings of a single verse by an Imam; mentioning the verses of the Quran along with Imam's words; and etc.
Key Words: Sayyari, Al-Qiraat, Hadith, Alteration, the Holy Quran.

Inheritance of the Holy Quran and the Prophet's educational and explanational policy regarding the knowledge of the Holy Quran are of an intellectual and logical mechanism which has been regarded in Chapter Fatir, Verses ٣١-٣٣ as a necessity for finality of Prophet-hood and Book. According to outer meaning of these verses of the Holy Quran, God has bestowed the perfect knowledge of the Quran upon a group of His special servants and introduced them as the chosen inheritors of the Holy Quran so that every one who seeks the Truth can take advantage of the Prophetic Sunnah and follow the path of light. There are two different viewpoints among the Islamic sects concerning the chosen inheritors of the Holy Quran.
