نتيجه مباحث فوق اين مى‌شود كه ادبيات و فضاى حاكم بر كنوانسيون حقوق كودك در حمايت از كرامت انسانى كودكان، به كلّى غير قابل انطباق با مجاز دانستن تنبيه بدنى كودكان توسط والدين و يا هر نوع مجازات بدنى ديگرى است؛ همان‌گونه كه كميته حقوق كودك نيز در تفسير عمومى شماره يك خود بى‌پرده بيان مى‌كند: «استفاده از مجازات بدنى، عدم احترام به كرامت ذاتى كودك است.» [١] گزارشگر سابق كميته حقوق كودك نيز به طور اختصاصى به وجود ارتباط ميان منع كتك‌زدن و حمايت از كرامت انسانى عقيده دارد؛ جوديت كارپ‌ [٢] به صورت قاطع و محكم ادّعا كرده است كه «مجازات بدنى شكل و نوعى از نقض كرامت انسانى كودك است». [٣] ه-) بند ٣ مادّه‌ى ٢٤

كنوانسيون حقوق كودك در مادّه‌ى ٢٤ پاراگراف ٣ بيان مى‌دارد:

«دولت‌هاى عضو جهت برچيدن و مبارزه با روش‌هاى سنّتى كه براى سلامتى كودك زيان بخش هستند، همه‌ى اقدامات مؤثر و مناسب را به عمل خواهند آورد.» [٤]
