آية الله قاسم رجل إصلاح و سلام( إستقامة، ثبات، سلمية) - قاسم، عيسى احمد - الصفحة ١٦٤
unity, regardless of those who get frustrated by it. When the people demand democracy which gives them the right to express their opinion in its constitution, laws and government, giving them the right of self- determination, they are not calling for Shiite democracy or Sunni democracy. Democracy does not come with sectarian classification. It is not the right of a specific doctrine and a foe of another doctrine. Democracy in its political field does not talk about doctrines nor does is it have anything to do with it.
Democracy is to provide justice for the people. If there is anyone aggrieved by democracy then its the corrupt and tyrannical governments and the unjust people who share the same selfish ambitions, corruption, oppression and aim to marginalize the peoples.
These people are not limited to a specific doctrine or a specific nationalism. These beneficiaries and defenders of corrupt governance can be of any doctrine, nationality or color. As long as they are following the corrupt governments, they are considered slaves of materialism, whether naming themselves Muslims or non- Muslims.
Friday sermon( ٣٨٤ )/ ٣٢ rd December ١١٠٢
Democracy is neither Sunni nor Shiite
Dear citizens, the demand for political rights or any other is completely separated from sectarian call and has nothing to do with it at all. Linking between them like what some are trying to do, is insane and far from objectivity. What does claiming democracy have to do with the sectarian aspect?! Democracy is not Sunni or Shiite. It has been confirmed that the aimed democracy does not carry preferences for one sect, nor does it marginalize and exclude one category.
