Ziyarat Alee Yaseen

Salutation Imam al-Mahdi

(May Allah Hasten His Reappearance)

سَلاَمٌ عَلَى آلِ يس

SALAMUN ’ALAA AALI YASEEN

Peace be on the householders of Yaseen

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ وَرَبَّانِيَّ آيَاتِهِ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA YAA DA’IYAL-LAAHI WA RABBAANIYYA AAYAATIHI

Peace be upon you; the caller to Allah and the pious scholar of His Verses

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَابَ اللَّهِ وَدَيَّانَ دِينِهِ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA YAA BAABAL-LAAHI WA DAYYAANA DEENIH

Peace be upon you; the gate to Allah and the applier of His religion

‌السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَلِيفَةَ اللَّهِ وَنَاصِرَ حَقِّهِ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA YAA KHALIEEFATAL-LAAHI WA NAASIRA H’AQQIH

Peace be upon you; the Caliph of Allah and the backer of His right

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ اللَّهِ وَدَلِيلَ إِرَادَتِهِ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA YAA HUJJATAL-LAAHI WA DALEELA IRAADATIH

Peace be upon you; the proof of Allah and the evidence on His volition

‌السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا تَالِيَ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَتَرْجُمَانَهُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA YAA TAALIYA KITAABIL-LAHI WA TARJUMAANIH

Peace be upon you; the reciter and the interpreter of the Book of Allah

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ فِي آنَاءِ لَيْلِكَ وَأَطْرَافِ نَهَارِكَ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA FEE AANAA-EI LAYLIKA WA ATRAAFI NAHAARIK

Peace be upon you at the hours of the night and the two ends of the day

‌السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَقِيَّةَ اللَّهِ فِي أَرْضِهِ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA YAA BAQIYYATAL-LAAHI FEE ARDHIH

Peace be upon you—the herald of Allah on His lands

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مِيثَاقَ اللَّهِ الَّذِي أَخَذَهُ وَوَكَّدَهُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA YAA MEETHAAQAL-LAAHIL-LATHY AKHATHAHOO WA WAKKADAH

Peace be upon you—the covenant of Allah that He has made and confirmed

‌السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَعْدَ اللَّهِ الَّذِي ضَمِنَهُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA YAA WA’DAL-LAAHIL-LATHY DHAMINAH

Peace be upon you—the Promise of Allah that He has assured

‌السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْعَلَمُ الْمَنْصُوبُ وَالْعِلْمُ الْمَصْبُوبُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA AYYUHAL-’ALAMUL-MANSOOBU WAL-’ILMUL-MASBOOB

Peace be upon you—the raised flag and the poured knowledge

وَالْغَوْثُ وَالرَّحْمَةُ الْوَاسِعَةُ

WAL-GHAWTHU WAR-RAHMATUL-WAASI’AH

And the aid and the expansive mercy

وَعْداً غَيْرَ مَكْذُوبٍ

WA’DAN GHAYRA MAKTHOOB

This is verily a promise that shall never be belied

‌السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA HEENA TAQOOM

Peace be upon you whenever you stand (or undertake the mission)

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَقْعُدُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA HEENA TAQ’UD

Peace be upon you whenever you sit

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَقْرَأُ وَتُبَيِّنُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA HEENA TAQRA-O WA TUBAYYIN

Peace be upon you whenever you recite and elucidate

‌السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تُصَلِّي وَتَقْنُتُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA HEENA TUSALLEE WA TAQNUT

Peace be upon you whenever you pray and supplicate

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَرْكَعُ وَتَسْجُدُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA HEENA TARKA’U WA TASJUD

Peace be upon you whenever you genuflect and prostrate

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تُهَلِّلُ وَتُكَبِّرُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA HEENA TUHALLILU WA TUKABBIR

Peace be upon you whenever you glorify (say: Laa ilaaha illal-laah) and adore (say: Allaahu-Akbar)

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَحْمَدُ وَتَسْتَغْفِرُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA HEENA TAHMIDU WA TASTAGHFIR

Peace be upon you whenever you praise and seek Allah’s forgiveness (or say: Astaghfirullaah)

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تُصْبِحُ وَتُمْسِي

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA HEENA TUSBIHO WA TUMSEE

Peace be upon you whenever you begin and end your day

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ فِي اللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA FIL-LAYLI ETHAA YAGHSHA WAN-NAHAARI ETHAA TAJALLAA

Peace be upon you in the night when it draws a veil and the day when it shines in brightness

‌السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْإِمَامُ الْمَأْمُونُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA AYYUHAL-IMAAMUL-MA-MOON

Peace be upon you—the trustee Imam (leader)

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُقَدَّمُ الْمَأْمُولُ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA AYYUHAL-MUQADDAMUL-MA-MOOL

Peace be upon you—the favored and the anticipated

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ بِجَوَامِعِ السَّلاَمِ

ASSALAAMU ’ALAYKA BI-JAWAAMI’IS-SALAAM

Peace be upon you to the ultimate meaning of Peace

‌أُشْهِدُكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ أَنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ

USH-HIDUKA YA MAWLAYA ANNEE ASH-HADU AN LA ELAHA ILLAL-LAH

I solicit you, my master, to testify for me that I bear witness that there is no god but Allah

وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ

WAHDAHOO LAA SHAREEKA LAH

Alone without having any associate

‌وَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

WA ANNA MUHAMMADAN ’ABDUHOO WA RASOOLUH

And that Mohammed is His bondman and messenger

لاَ حَبِيبَ إِلاَّ هُوَ وَأَهْلُهُ

LAA HABEEBA ILLAA HUWA WA AHLUH

there is no beloved by Allah than he and his household are

وَأُشْهِدُكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ أَنَّ عَلِيّاً أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حُجَّتُهُ

WA USHHIDUKA YAA MAWLAAYA ANNA ’ALIYYAN AMEERAL-MU-MINEENA HUJJATUH

And I solicit you, my master, to testify for me that I bear witness that Ali, the Commander of the Believers, is His proof

‌وَالْحَسَنَ حُجَّتُهُ

WAL-HASANA HUJJATUH

And al-Hasan is His proof

وَالْحُسَيْنَ حُجَّتُهُ

WAL-HUSAYNA HUJJATUH

And al-Hussain is His proof

وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ حُجَّتُهُ

WA ’ALIYYABNAL-HUSAYNI HUJJATUH

And Ali ibn al-Hussain is His proof

‌وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ

WA MUHAMMADABNA ’ALIYYIN HUJJATUH

And Mohammed ibn Ali is His proof

وَجَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حُجَّتُهُ

WA JA’FARABNA MUHAMMADIN HUJJATUH

And Ja’far ibn Mohammed is His proof

وَمُوسَى بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ حُجَّتُهُ

WA MOOSABNA JA’FARIN HUJJATUH

And Musa ibn Ja’far is His proof

وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ مُوسَى حُجَّتُهُ

WA ’ALIYYABNA MOOSAA HUJJATUH

And Ali ibn Musa is His proof

‌وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ

WA MUHAMMADABNA ’ALIYYIN HUJJATUH

And Mohammed ibn Ali is His proof

وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حُجَّتُهُ

WA ’ALIYYABNA MUHAMMADIN HUJJATUH

And Ali ibn Mohammed is His proof

وَالْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ

WAL-HASANABNA ’ALIYYIN HUJJATUH

And al-Hasan ibn Ali is His proof

‌وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ حُجَّةُ اللَّهِ

WA ASHHADU ANNAKA HUJJATUL-LAAH

And I bear witness that you are verily the proof of Allah

أنْتُمْ الأوَّلُ وَالآخِرُ

ANTUMUL-AWWALU WAL-AAKHIR

-You (all) are the first and the last-

وَأَنَّ رَجْعَتَكُمْ حَقٌّ لاَ رَيْبَ فِيهَا

WA ANNA RAJ’ATAKUM HAQQUN LA RAYBA FEEHAA

And that your (promised) Return is undoubtedly true

يَوْمَ لاَ يَنْفَعُ نَفْساً إِيمَانُهَا لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِهَا خَيْراً

YAWMA LAA YANFA’U NAFSAN EEMAANUHA LAM TAKUN AAMANAT MIN QABLU AW KASABAT FEE EEMAANIHAA KHAYRAA

“On the day when some of the signs of your Lord shall come, its faith shall not profit a soul which did not believe before, or earn good through its faith (by works)”

وَأَنَّ الْمَوْتَ حَقٌّ

WA ANNAL-MAWTA HAQQ

And that death is true

وَأَنَّ نَاكِراً وَنَكِيراً حَقٌّ

WA ANNA NAAKIRAN WA NAKEERAN HAQQ

And that Nakir and Nakeer are true

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ النَّشْرَ حَقٌّ

WA ASHHADU ANNAN-NASHRA HAQQ

And I bear witness that the Resurrection is true

وَالْبَعْثَ حَقٌ

WAL-BA’THA HAQQ

And that the Return of the souls is true

‌وَأَنَّ الصِّرَاطَ حَقٌّ

WA ANNA ASIRATA HAQQ

And that the Path (Sirat) is true

وَالْمِرْصَادَ حَقٌّ

WAL-MIRSADA HAQQ

And that the Mirsad (one of the levels on the day of judgment) is true

وَالْمِيزَانَ حَقٌّ

WAL-MEEZAANA HAQQ

And the Balance (Meezan) is true

وَالْحَشْرَ حَقٌ

WAL-HASHRA HAQQ

And the Gathering is true

‌وَالْحِسَابَ حَقٌّ

WAL-HISAABA HAQQ

And the Reckoning is true

وَالْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ

WAL-JANNATA WAN-NAARA HAQQ

And Paradise and Hell are true

وَالْوَعْدَ وَالْوَعِيدَ بِهِمَا حَقٌ‌

WAL-WA’DA WAL-WA’EEDA BIHIMA HAQQ

And the promise of Paradise and the threat with Hell are true

يَا مَوْلاَيَ شَقِيَ مَنْ خَالَفَكُمْ

YAA MAWLAYA SHAQIYA MAN KHALAFAKUM

My master! He who opposes you has certainly been wretched

وَسَعِدَ مَنْ أَطَاعَكُمْ

WA SA’IDA MAN ATA’AKUM

And he who obeys you has certainly been happy

فَاشْهَدْ عَلَى مَا أَشْهَدْتُكَ عَلَيْهِ

FASHHAD ’ALAA MA ASHHADTUKA ’ALAYH

So, testify for that which I have besought you to testify

‌وَأَنَا وَلِيٌّ لَكَ

WA ANA WALIYYUN LAK

And I am verily an ally of you

بَرِي‌ءٌ مِنْ عَدُوِّكَ

BAREE-ON MIN ’ADUWWIK

Denouncing your enemy

فَالْحَقُّ مَا رَضِيتُمُوهُ

FAL-HAQQO MA RADHYTUMOOH

What is right is only that which you accept

وَالْبَاطِلُ مَا أَسْخَطْتُمُوهُ

WAL-BAATILO MA ASKHAT-TUMOOH

And what is wrong is only that which you disallow

‌وَالْمَعْرُوفُ مَا أَمَرْتُمْ بِهِ

WAL-MA’ROOFO MA AMARTUM BIH

And what is good is only that which you enjoin

وَالْمُنْكَرُ مَا نَهَيْتُمْ عَنْهُ

WAL-MUNKARA MA NAHAYTUM ’ANH

And what is evil is only that which you forbid

فَنَفْسِي مُؤْمِنَةٌ بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ

FANAFSEE MU-MINATUN BILLAAHI WAHDAHOO LAA SHAREEKA LAH

My soul is believing in Allah; alone without any other associate

وَبِرَسُولِهِ ‌وَبِأَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَبِكُمْ يَا مَوْلاَيَ أَوَّلِكُمْ وَآخِرِكُمْ

WABIRASOOLIHI WABI AMEERIL-MU-MINEENA WABIKUM YAA MAWLAYA AW-WALIKUM WA AAKHIRIKUM

And also in His Apostle and in the Commander of the Believers and in you all—from the beginning to the end

وَنُصْرَتِي مُعَدَّةٌ لَكُمْ

WANUSRATEE MU’ADDATUN LAKUM

My support is always prepared to back you

وَمَوَدَّتِي خَالِصَةٌ لَكُمْ، آمِينَ آمِينَ

WAMAWADDATEE KHALISATUN LAKUM, AAMEENA AAMEEN

And my love for you is sincere, Amen, Amen
