In order to demonstrate the impact of hadith family on full comprehension of a moral concept, the author of this paper makes a comparative study between hadiths concerning hilm (clemency) in Nahj al-Balagha and hadiths with the same topic in other hadith sources. In fact he tries to prove that utilizing other hadith sources when investigating a hadith is a must and we should not be content with the very first conception of a hadith.

An Investigation of Chains of Authorities in Nawadir al-Hikmah

Muhammad bn Ahmad bn Yahya is a hadith teacher of the third century A.H. He is the author of Nawdir al-Hikmah which is regarded as a hadith collection. Muhammad bn Hhasan bn Walid has implicitly accepted the trustworthiness of more than ٥٠٠ direct teachers of Muhammad bn Ahmad (with a few exceptions). Some prominent scholars like Abu al-Abbas bn Nuh, Shaykh Saduq, Najashi and Shaykh Tusi have also accepted this authentication.
