POLITICAL CULTURE THE ORIGINS OF THE CONTEMPORARY IRANIAN

To underestand the political culture of a society, attention should be paid to its sources, emergence, and development in the political society. Thus, we
can recongnize the cultural grounds of "political unstability" and propose the appropriate strategies in the same way we can predict "the political acts"
of a society by recongnizing the grounds of political culture. This article is an attempt to explain the origins of the authoritative and participative
culture of the contemporary Iranian political society.
THE SHIITE POLITICAL SYSTEM POLITICAL SYSTEM AND STATE IN ISLAM(٣):

In the first part of the article related to the general image of political system, the writer explaind the main features of the Islamic political system. In
the second part the Sunnite political system was discussed.
In this article, the writer analyses the Shiite political system theories, believing that the Shiite political thought is based on the concepts "the Imamate
of the Ma'sumin" , "vellayat" , and "Ghaybat" (the Absence of the Last Imam). Since the concept Ghaybat has led the natural and political life of the
Shiites to crisis, some Shiite political theories were formed to solve the problem. These theories have resulted in three important approaches: the
Islamic Mashrooteh, the Islamic Republic, and the vellayat of the Ommah, which are studied in details in this article.
THE UNITY OF RELIGION AND POLITICS IN IMAM KHOMAYNI'S POLITICAL THOUGHT

The relationship between religion and politics is an important issue in the realm of socio-political thoughts. Some have denied any relatioship between
the two, believing the inteference of any of them into the other would lead to the inadequacy of both. Some others believe in some kind of relationship
between the two but disagree in the details of the relationship. This article is to study how religion and politics are conceptually and institutionally
related according to Imam Khomayni's view.
IDENTITY THE ISLAMIC REVOLUTION AND NATIONAL

The modernization process in the Pahlavi period rapidly and suddenly transformed and threatened the traditional values in the religious society of
Iran. This problem led to the appearance of new crises in the different aspects of the Iranian society, especially the national identiy. To respond to
these crises, the Islamic Revolution proposed a new national identity discourse, benefiting from basic Shiite political thoughts.

On the basis of different views and frameworks, there has been much controversy and disagreement over why the Iranian Islamic Revolution occured.
In this article the role of paradigm preservation function through political socialization in the emergence of the Iranian Islamic Revolution is studied
on the basis of Talcott Parson's functional-structural model. Explaining three cultural models including Iranism, Religionism, and Westernism, the
writer studied the data through content analysis and concluded that the Pahlavi regime could not preserve the paradigm through political socialization.
As a result, because of the value contradictions between the political and social powers, the Islamic Revolution emerged.
IMAM KHOMAYNI'S THEORY OF REVOLUTION

This article is an attempt to reconstruct the theory of revolution based on Imam Khomayni's political thought in order to provide an intrinsic
underestanding of the Islamic Revolution and explain its causes. This outlook is different in that it studies revolution from the perspective of the
leader of revolution, while other theories of revolution study it as a totality comprised of some elements.
INTERNATIONAL SYSTEM OF IRAN AND THE STRUCTURE OF THE THE FOREIGN POLICY OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC

Three methods can be used to study the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The first is from the perspective of the international system in a
macro-level. The second is dependant on domestic values such as the beliefs and values of policy-makers. And the last method is studying the Iranian
foreign policy behaviour in an angency-structre interactional relation. In the present article, after explaining the concept of the structure of the
International system, we will see how the Islamic Republic foreign policy chanllenged the international system.

modern paradigms. Afterwards, the relationship between Islam and democracy are historically explained according to the views of the active forces in
the Islamic revolution. The relationship of these forces to each of the traditional and modern paradigms and their reaction to the political situations,
and the birth of new paradigms out of such controversies are also discussed.

Iranian political parties have never been institutionalized. Despite the occasional political openness, no clearly defined party with the relavant
functions are formed in Iran. Trying to explain party functions, this article studies the activities and causes of the inefficiency of the Toodeh party, and
the National Will party before and after the Islamic Revolution.
OIL NATIONALIZATION MOVEMENT KEY GROUPS IN MASHROOTـ AND

This research is to study the presence of the traditional and modern middle class and the degree of their influence on the way Mashrootإ
(Constitutionalism) and Oil Nationalization Movement were formed. The four influential groups are the clergies, the intellectuals, the market forces,
and the workers. Concerning the nature, the two movements have some common features such as being anti-despotic and anti-colonialist besides
having an urban origin.
MOVEMENT AMERICAN MUSLIM'S SOCIO-POLITICAL

The Blacks who were enslaved in America have rebelled several times against discrimination. The early rebelions of black slaves had nationalistic
motivation. Getting disappointed in such rebelions, the blacks, especially, the Muslem blacks and other Muslems sought refuge in religious teachings to
obtain their rights. This article endeavors to explain the history of black American's struggle.
PAKISTAN AND ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALISM

Islamic fundamentalism has outstandingly grown up in Pakistan in the last two decades. Regional political events such as the Islamic Revolution, the
Islamic Jihad against USSR's occupation of Afghanistan, and resistance against Indian domination in Kishmir had great impact on the growth of
extremist Islamism in Pakistan. Supporting the resistance movements in Afghanistan and Kishmir and providing facilities for these Islamic groups, has
also provided the ground for the development of such groups.
